El Nino & Dengue Feve

As Hawai’i emerges from an unusually active and dangerous Central Pacific Hurricane Season, the focus changes from

the sky to the air around us. The 2015-2016 El Niño kept its promise of a hurricane season full of dangerous storms

and close calls, but now conditions are ripe for a different hazard, dengue fever. This month, join NDPTC staff to learn

about the science of El Nino and dengue fever and how the Hawai’i Department of Health and emergency medical

services are responding to the new threat across our island chain.

  • Dr. Sarah Park
