NDPTC's cadre of instructors are of the highest caliber, very well-respected in their fields and disciplines. Many have advanced degrees in science, engineering, planning, and architecture, and years of practical experience as leaders within their field of expertise.

David Imy

David Imy was a forecaster and Supervisor in the National Weather Service (NWS) for 33 years. This included working at five different NWS offices. He was a forecaster at North Little Rock, AR; the Warning Preparedness Meteorologist at Jackson, MS; NEXRAD Training Instructor at Norman, OK; Forecaster Supervisor at Denver, CO and a Forecaster Supervisor at the Storm Prediction Center. These positions include forecasting at all locations, training severe weather spotters and providing safety talks for various schools, hospitals, etc., as well as developing and teaching a 4-week NWS in-residence Doppler radar course. The last 15 years of his NWS career were spent at the Storm Prediction Center supervising 22 forecasters, working 25% rotating shifts. This included issuing severe thunderstorm and tornado watches, Mesoscale Discussions, Severe Convective and Fire Weather Outlooks for the contiguous states. David retired from the NWS on Dec 31, 2011. Since that time, David has been teaching meteorology classes, involved with scientific research projects and an expert witness for weather-related court cases.

Daniel Iradi

Mr. Dan Iradi is an Associate with Booz Allen Hamilton, serving as a Senior Emergency Preparedness Specialist since 2012. He currently supports the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Emergency Communications Division (ECD). While supporting CISA, Mr. Iradi spearheaded a major update to the Emergency Communications Governance Guide for State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial Officials. Mr. Iradi also provided subject matter expertise for the 2019 National Emergency Communications Plan update. Prior to joining Booz Allen Hamilton, Mr. Iradi worked at the American Red Cross for 10 years in a variety of roles, including the Red Cross Liaison to FEMA Region II. Mr. Iradi supported disaster response operations following Hurricanes Katrina, Wilma, Ike, Irene, and Lee. While supporting FEMA Region I for Booz Allen Hamilton, Mr. Iradi helped initiate response activities after the Boston Marathon bombing. Mr. Iradi holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctorate from Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, focusing on American politics and public policy.
