Steven Oglesby, M.E.P.
Steven serves as a Senior Emergency Management Specialist at a facility on the Department of Energy Oak Ridge Reservation in east Tennessee.. His responsibilities include writing and reviewing emergency plans and procedures and exercise design and conduct. Steven’s emergency services career started in 1974 as a volunteer rescue squad member. Since 1999, when Steve became a full time emergency manager, he has been involved in hundreds of responses to include active participation in 28 Presidentially Declared Disasters. He has served in a variety of incident command positions, to include Incident Commander of a 37 agency hazardous materials response. He is a Master Exercise Practitioner, certified Emergency Management Institute instructor for multiple courses including the NIMS ICS All-Hazards Position Specific Training Program, and Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP). Steven’s emergency management career followed his 20-plus years as an award winning television journalist. During this time he served as a general assignment reporter, investigative reporter, freelance network correspondent, assignment editor, news director and promotion-marketing director.
