The National Disaster Preparedness Training Center (NDPTC) participated in the 5th Annual Get Ready Ewa event held at the Ewa Makai Middle School on Saturday, September 5, 2015.

The event, hosted by the Honolulu Department of Emergency Management, served as a wonderful central location for the community to learn about disaster preparedness and the resources that are available.

The event hosted approximately 800 attendees and 56 vendors including City and County, Fire, Police, FEMA Region IX, National Oceanic Atmospheric Association- National Weather Service, Red Cross and Queens Medical Center. Attendees were able to meet Congressman Mark Takai and inquire with each of the vendors regarding best practices.

The focus of this year’s event was to increase engagement and interaction with the attendees. NDPTC introduced a questions and answer game that allowed attendees of all ages to engage and demonstrate their disaster preparedness knowledge.
