NDPC 2020 Annual Report Now Available

A message from NDPC Chairman Jeff Mayne

Friends and colleagues,
As chair of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC), I am excited to announce the release of the 2020 NDPC Annual Report. This report summarizes the impact of each of its member organizations on the emergency responder community at the state, local, tribal and territorial level over the last year.
The NDPC is a partnership of several nationally recognized organizations whose membership is based on the urgent need to address the preparedness and response needs of the nation’s emergency first responders within the context of all hazards including counter-terrorism (foreign and domestic), natural disasters, chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive Weapons of Mass Destruction hazards.
The NDPC is comprised of seven members:

  • The Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) in Anniston, Alabama
  • The New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology's Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center (NMT/EMRTC)
  • LSU’s National Center for Biomedical Research and Training/Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education (NCBRT/ACE)
  • Texas A&M University National Emergency Response and Recovery Training Center (TEEX/NERRTC)
  • The Counterterrorism Operations Support (CTOS) Center for Radiological/Nuclear Training at the Department of Energy’s Nevada Test Site
  • The Security and Emergency Response Training Center (SERTC)
  • The National Disaster Preparedness Training Center at the University of Hawaii (NDPTC)

In 2020, even during a pandemic that stretched the resources of the responder community, the NDPC trained over 150 thousand participants through courses that are available at no cost through the DHS/FEMA National Training and Education Division. In total, the NDPC delivered just-in-time training and resources to over 800 thousand individuals through modes like e-Learning, podcasts, videos and job aids.
The 2020 Annual Report highlights the NDPC’s resilience and flexibility to deliver training and educational material in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic. The NDPC and its members developed new training methods and resources and have adapted many its existing resources to keep courses timely and relevant, and we will continue to provide high-quality, timely training for responders now and in the future.
