NDPTC delivers training to Inupiat Native American community in Kivilina Alaska
Kivilina is on the southern tip of a 12 km long barrier island located between the Chukchi Sea and a lagoon at the mouth of the Kivalina River in Alaska. The community is threatened by rising sea levels and coastal erosion, and it is predicted that the island will be inundated by 2025. NDPTC instructor Alison Hardin delivered PER-305 Coastal Flood Risk Reduction and instructor Kalani Souza delivered AWR-228 Coastal Community Resilience to the village.
