Cascading Disasters in the COVID-19 Environment
NDPTC and UH's Department of Urban and Reginal Planning invites you to a free Special Virtual Webinar on October 15, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm (HST). This presentation will focus on the unprecedented challenges facing communities who face major natural disasters amidst the current pandemic. Social distancing, quarantines, and other safety protocol present emergency managers and first responders with a new and difficult situation. Our panelists will examine the challenges facing communities experiencing cascading disasters, and how they can plan for, respond to, and recover from them.
Speakers include:
Mr. Jason Krause, Associate Director of the National Center for Biomedical Research and Training at Louisiana State University.
Mr. Owen Shieh, Training Department Head at the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
