This course is designed to enhance the ability of Security Professionals to prepare for and plan to react immediately in the event of a natural disaster in order to meet the disaster response and recovery needs of their facility and to provide support to local first responder agencies as needed.
The course material will familiarize participants with a range of natural hazards, the disaster-specific risks they pose (including likelihood and consequences), different factors that contribute to or reduce vulnerability, effective and accepted emergency procedures that may be taken to minimize financial and/or human impacts, and basic law enforcement duties that are typically required in the response to or recovery from major emergencies and disasters.
Students will be exposed to prevailing emergency and disaster coordination and communication systems and procedures, and will be informed of different actions that they may be able to take in order to support pre- and post-event first responder efforts.

Target Audience:

The target audience for this awareness level training course is the approximately 1.1 million civilian security professionals employed in almost every industry (including critical infrastructure, tourism, finance, medicine, manufacturing, retail, education, sports, government facilities, transportation, and many others).
